Companies are now eligible to register for Road Safety Week 2017, which takes place later this year from November 20th to 26th
The event, which is organised by UK road charity, Brake aims to educate road users, companies and their employees about the importance of road safety as well as the consequences of speeding and other types of road traffic offences.
The event is sponsored by Aviva as well as the Department for transportation and provides a great opportunity for companies who want to promote the idea of road safety within their own organisation as well as the community at wide. The focus of Road Safety Week this year is around the idea ‘Speed Down Save Lives’.
Community Engagement Manager for Brake, Dave Nichols said –
“Speeding remains a major problem in the UK. Not only does it put people’s lives at risk, but it prevents them from being able to walk and cycle safely in their communities.
“We all live busy lives and there is often a temptation to speed up in the hope of saving time, where in fact we could be costing lives. That is why we’re encouraging everyone to Speed Down Save Lives this Road Safety Week.
“Companies can help get these vital messages out to drivers, families and young people, making a big difference to their local community. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t already registered to sign up now for our free action pack.”
